I’ve been testing how to potentially take an organic model produced in a program such as ZBrush and seeing how well it will come into Revit for use as a mass element to create curtain systems or walls from. This post will likely evolve as I undertake more tests on the subject.

I created this random shaped object in Zbrush (Great for organic digital modelling), I then exported to obj, imported in max then exported as .sat (ACIS). this then allowed me to import into a Revit conceptual mass, I then imported this (I know a lot of import/export) into a project as a mass family.

Once in the project I could then create curtain systems with the faces of the mesh object, I also tested wall by face which also worked well. The downside is that it doesn’t work quite as well as when creating systems from natively built masses or if using Dynamo/Vasari, but it is a concept/workflow I’m going to investigate a little more to see where it can be pushed and what can be produced.
